HIGHLIGHTS!

So, next project I got is for a children's magazine and or anything basically made to keep children entertained. Naturally I am super excited, there are so many good memories of old magazines like Highlights from my youth.

Anyhow I had two ideas for this assignment one is Greek Monsters, and the other Halloween. In both I am thinking to put a crossword puzzle, maze, a recipe, and a cut out paper toy craft. This will be so much fun.

'
Update: I'm doing the Halloween one, it would have a broader audience, though I really like Greek Monsters, that is a project for later.....

Mermaids and pirates continued, again.....

Not to happy with how the color came out, so I'll probably end up re-working it after I get it back. Like I always do it seems these days. I even tried getting it for a closer crop, but now it just looks super green, I think it may have gone into RGB, le sigh, oh well.

Chubby Angel & Chubtastic Tentacles

So I was trying to come up with more ideas for a drawing for Aaron, and this is just a little one that I came up with as an idea, that I'll probably not follow through on. But it was just too cute to not post!

Then of course I can't just stop at that, so I drew this adorable octomer, whom I love.

Mermaids & Pirates continued, plus some sea monster goodness.

Okay, so I finished the interior spot illustration for the restaurant guide project, I'm pretty happy with it, though knowing me, it may very well change before wednesday. The cover is in the inking stages, but it isn't finished, I definitely need to work out some other issues with it, and rework it. But progress is progress.

So, I was looking through my images on my computer, and found this lovely gem that I had taken with my phone.

So I was thinking of making a crazy mini-comic about sea monsters, pirates and some kind of dirigible ship. Totally up my alley, now to find the time, what am I saying, there is always time for crazy things like this. Also I promised Aaron I'd draw him something related to the sky, which is definitely not my forte, I am very much a water person. So hopefully this will help inspire me a bit, and help me to work in  sea flare into my work.

Here is some random goodness, Bubbie terrorizing some poor innocent victim doll. Isn't she adorable?

Carpal Coloring

So, this is one of my assignments, to color these three things in, this is what I have so far. I am tired of them, and am always finding some little thing that I am unhappy with, so I know I'll be working on this late into the evening obsessively. My hand is killing me, but I am so obsessed with fixing every little detail that my brain has turned off the pain receptor or something........I think I might take a break and work on my mermaids again. Also they look much better in CMYK, RGB just makes this look weird, really weird. Oh and one very important thing, I did not draw these, I have no clue who drew them or where they are from, our professor just handed these to us to color.

Things that make me giggle

Here are a few things that I put into a mini comic about things that should make everyone giggle and smile.

Noses and Beetlejuice

Basically I just sit around during class when I get bored and draw noses.

Or try to summon Beetlejuice.

More mermaids, pirates, and a banana suit

So for the restaurant guide project we have to simply draw something relating to restaurants. For some reason I had to draw a mermaid and a pirate out on a date, and this is what I've come up with so far. Later this weekend I should be posting up the final ink before I go to color for Wednesday.

This is a sketch for another project, that's due Tuesday. We all got the same basic script of someone exiting a building, showing as much establishing shots as possible ( to show off your perspective drawing skills ) then a person in a banana suit comes running towards the first character waving flyers. So, since my roommate and I have been a bit obsessed with Agatha Christi's Poirot, I decided to make this project a little more fun and have the main character be the one and only, Hercule Poirot. By the way, this is only a thumbnail.

Mermaids

I've been drawing mermaids and pirates constantly since I got an assignment to come up with a cover for a Restaurant Guide. Here is one of many doodles, this one actually went into a mini-comic I made for a friend.
